Italy got a hiding

Since the girly is a keen watcher of sports, so whenever Italy is playing sport x against country y, I get the result. Put it this way; she could explain the rules of rugby better than I could. But anyway, the Italians were playing the All Blacks on Saturday in Marseille. She prepared herself to watch Italy get their arse handed to them on a plate, and they sure did. Although not as much as the game after between Japan and Australia. Japan seemed to hold their own for the first 20 minutes, but after that, the proverbial flood gates were open and the field was awash with Japanese detritus. Ok enough of the extended metaphor, the score was around the 80-something to 4 or something. The pub was packed during the Italy-NZ game (maybe 100 or so) and 4 or 5, including us for the Australian game.

Also in Rome was the notte bianca (white night) that night, which means the city is open until 6am the next morning. The streets were packed with people wandering around the shops, going into the free museums, watching movies and so on. Paolo (a collegue from Rome) and I were cruising around one of the museums at 4 in the morning, which was packed with people. Here is a photo of what it was like:

In other news, my university enrollment has almost arrived and I've started going through the books. My folks suspect that the degree is coming from a wheetbix box. In fact, it's ranked fourth in England for politics (the degree is in politics and international relations)
